Drogheda Classical Music was founded in 2012 to present the best Irish and international artists to local audiences. The Board of the Series is looking for an Administrator on a part time basis, to manage the day to day running of the concert Series from June 2023.

 

THE ROLE:

The Administrator will work with the Board and Artistic Director to deliver a Series of concerts from September to April each year. The role will include responsibility for:

 

All administrative duties, including:

•  Day to day financial management and control
•  Communicating with the Arts Council and Louth County Council regarding funding
•  Preparing and submitting annual grant applications
•  Working with the board to manage Friends and Benefactors Scheme
•  Providing all documentation for Accountant ahead of annual returns deadline and final Arts Council drawdowns
•  Drawing up and managing the budget for the annual Series based on confirmed grants and projected box office revenue
•  Work with the Board Chair and Company Secretary to prepare material and to prepare financial and operational reports for Company Board Meetings (currently four per year)

 

Production and Event Management:

•  Managing the schedule of events
•  Liaising with agents and artists in advance of Series launch
•  Ensuring contracts are in place before concerts go on sale
•  Arrange travel and accommodation where necessary, for visiting artists
•  Process payments for all Artists and associated invoices, e.g. print, advertising, venues etc
•  Liaise with venue (St Peter’s Church of Ireland) to ensure dates are booked in advance and that arrival and set up times are agreed ahead of each performance
•  Be available to welcome artists on day of concert and attend all concerts/recitals

 

PR, Marketing and Promotion:

•  Liaise with Louth County Council and Droichead Arts Centre on the marketing forms for all DCM events and ensure that all information is proofed and correct (concert description, imagery, logos, ticket prices etc.)
•  Create content for regular e-shots and correspondence with DCM audience and manage local press
•  Work with designer to ensure print and online material is ready and available for distribution and going live to coincide with season launch
•  Prepare and plan printed programmes
•  Commission the programme note writer
•  Update content of DCM Social Media platforms

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Candidates should have experience in Arts Administration, ideally have a background in music, understand basic accountancy, be a self-starter, and be comfortable working for and supporting Drogheda Classical Music with a high-quality, detail-conscious approach to the work and role.

The Administrator will work remotely and invoice on a monthly basis. The time requirement averages one day per week throughout the year, which can be flexible depending on the number of events.

Remuneration: The fee is €10,000 p.a. (averaging 1 day per week).
