Apply to take part in Celebrating the Voice with Tara Erraught – Applications now closed

Drogheda Classical Music invites applications from singers to participate in Celebrating the Voice, an enterprising weekend on vocal technique and vocal health, led by the internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught. It takes place in St. Peter’s Church of Ireland, Drogheda from Thursday, 26 to Sunday 29 January 2023. This is the second edition of Celebrating the Voice. It was inaugurated with great success by Drogheda Classical Music in January 2020, and is the only independent venture of its kind in Ireland.

Irish-based or Irish-trained singers who have completed an undergraduate degree in vocal studies, or who are pursuing a Masters’ degree, are in an opera studio and entering a career in opera or concert recital, can now apply for a place on Celebrating the Voice. Over the four days, you will participate in masterclasses and workshops, hear experts talk on different aspects of vocal health, perform in a concert recital and an opera gala, and meet and mix with industry professionals.

Applicants must be available for all four days. Applications close on Wednesday 14th December 2022.

Celebrating the Voice presents a splendid panel of expert guests.

Joining Tara Erraught will be: vocal coach Dearbhla Collins; opera and recital singer Angela Brower; Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, Dr Paul Kwak from New York; Morgane Fauchois-Prado, French language coach at the Paris Conservatory; Andreas Massow, Senior Arts Manager and former casting director at Bayerische Staatsoper, Jonathan Friend, Artistic Adviser at New York’s Metropolitan Opera; Gaby Smyth, financial and tax consultant specialising in literary, music, film and theatre, and Liz Nolan, presenter and broadcaster at RTÉ lyric fm.

The weekend forms part of Drogheda Classical Music’s 2022/23 season and is funded by the Arts Council and Louth County Council and run in partnership with Droichead Arts Centre with sponsorship from WhitelightEvents and RTÉ Supporting the Arts.
