Gould Piano Trio

FRIDAY 13 OCTOBER, 2017

Join this terrific trio for an evening of chamber music

""

The British-born Gould Trio have ‘the combination of jeweller-like precision and a musical fire that ignites from the first bar’. They take inspiration from playing a wide range of chamber music with colleagues and coaching aspiring young ensembles.

For their first visit to Drogheda, they will perform three major works for piano, violin and cello including Mendelssohn’s much-loved Piano Trio No. 1.

GOULD PIANO TRIO

Recently compared to the great Beaux Arts Trio for their “musical fire” and dedication to the genre the Gould Piano Trio have remained at the forefront of the international chamber music scene for well over twenty years.

""

They won first prize at the Melbourne Chamber Music Competition and make regular appearances at London’s Wigmore Hall. The trio are Artistic Directors of the Leeds International Chamber Season, to curate a series of six concerts.

Celebrity groups cannot equal the musical excitement generated by first-class players building up an interpretation through years of exacting study and performance, however memorable this or that solo passage may be. This was the most satisfying concert I’ve heard all season.
